Description: In the 1800s a “cocktail” meant any combination of spirit, sweetener, and bitters.

Garnish: Cocktail cherries (or in a pinch - maybe an orange slice)

Place sugar cube in old-fashioned glass and saturate with bitters, add a dash of plain water. Muddle until dissolve. Fill the glass with ice cubes and add whisky.

  • 1 cl Lemon juice
  • 2 cl Syrup
  • 3 cl Sweet vermouth

Muddle 6 mint leaves and 3 lemon wedges in a cocktail shaker with ¾ oz. simple syrup (1:1), pushing firmly enough to express juice but not destroy the mint. Add 1 oz. Fernet-Branca, 1 oz. sweet vermouth, ¼ oz. fresh lemon juice, and a pinch kosher salt. Fill with ice and shake until exterior is chilled, 10–15 seconds. Double-strain, using a cocktail strainer and a fine-mesh strainer, into a rocks glass filled with crushed ice. Garnish with a mint sprig.

Rinse a chilled old-fashioned glass with the absinthe, add crushed ice and set it aside. Stir the remaining ingredients over ice and set it aside. Discard the ice and any excess absinthe from the prepared glass, and strain the drink into the glass. Note: The original recipe changed after the American Civil War, rye whiskey substituted cognac as it became hard to obtain.

Description: This cocktail predates the Negroni. Mr Campari began serving cocktails in 1860 in Malin. Campari. vermouth and soda became a popular drink among american tourists. While the Americano doesn’t have quite the romance that’s grown around the Negroni, it also doesn’t have nearly as much alcohol. It’s a lighter and saner choice for summertime drinking.

Dead Sea Mule

  • 15 cl Ginger beer
  • 3 cl Grenadine
  • 6 cl Mezcal
  • 2.5 cl Lime juice

Garnish: Mint or ginger

To make grenadine syrup just weigh out 3 parts pomegranate juice to 2 parts sugar. Heat to near boiling (don't boil). Keeps 3 weeks in the fridge

Glass: collins

Mezcal Paloma

  • 12 cl Grapefruit soda
  • 6 cl Mezcal
  • 1.5 cl Lime juice

Garnish: Lime wedge, salt

Rub lime on the glass edge, dip it in salt. Fill with ice

Division Bell

  • 4 cl Mezcal (Del Maguey Vida)
  • 3 cl Aperol
  • 3 cl Lime juice
  • 1 cl Maraschino liqueur (Luxardo)
  • 3 cl Cream

Garnish: Grapefruit wedge

Shake with ice cubes. Strain into chilled cocktail glass. Squeeze oils from grapefruit peel over the drink (don't skimp on it, it really elevates the cocktail)

Cosmopolitan

  • 4 cl Vodka (Citron Vodka)
  • 1.5 cl Triple Sec (Cointreau)
  • 1.5 cl Lime juice
  • 3 cl Cranberry juice

Garnish: Lime slice

Shake with ice cubes. Strain into a large cocktail glass.

  • 6 cl Gin
  • 1 cl Vermouth (Dry vermouth)

Stir in mixing glass with ice cubes. Strain into chilled martini glass. Squeeze oil from lemon peel onto the drink, or garnish with olive.

  • 4 cl Gin (Old Tom Gin)
  • 1 cl Cherry liqueur (Maraschino)
  • 1 cl Orange Bitters
  • 1 cl Lemon juice

Garnish: Lemon twist and a cherry

Shake with ice cubes. Strain into chilled cocktail glass.

Planter's Punch

  • 4.5 cl Dark rum
  • 3.5 cl Orange juice
  • 3.5 cl Pineapple juice
  • 2 cl Lemon juice
  • 1 cl Syrup (Grenadine)
  • 1 cl Syrup (Sugar syrup)
  • 3 dashes Angostura Bitters

Garnish: Pineapple slice and a cherry

Pour all ingredients, except the bitters, into shaker filled with ice. Shake. Pour into large glass, filled with ice. Add Angostura bitters, “on top”.

  • half fresh lime cut into 4 wedges
  • 2 teaspoon sugar

Place lime and sugar in old fashion glass and muddle. Fill glass with ice and Cachaca (note:Caipiroska- use Vodka instead of Cachaca).

  • 5 cl Tequila (Silver Tequila)
  • 7 cl Tomato juice
  • 3 cl Orange juice
  • 1 cl Lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon clear honey
  • Half slice onion finely chopped
  • Few slices fresh red hot chili peppers
  • Few drops Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt

Garnish: Lime wedge and a green or red chili

Shake with ice cubes. Strain into a highball glass, filled with ice.

  • 5 cl Tequila (Silver Tequila)
  • 12 cl Lemonade (Fresh lemonade)
  • 6 cl Beer (Mexican lager)
  • 1 cl Lime juice

Combine all ingredients in a pitcher with ice cubes and stir.

  • 3 cl Vodka
  • 3 cl Triple Sec
  • 3 cl Lime juice

Shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
